History of North Down GSC
History
North Down Glentoran Supporters Club was founded in February, 1993. Our first ever meeting took place in Oscar's Bar, Newtownards. The club was lead at the time by our current Vice Chairman, Ricky Rea. During our first season, our member tally peaked at eleven. Interestingly, our first ever Secretary was the then Lord Mayor of Ards, Jeff Magill. First members included: Ricky Rea, Ricky Rea Jr, Jim Rea, Henry Rea, Davy Gorman, Jeff Magill, Kieran Devlin, George Bennett, Billy Box and Barry Higgins.
This club has had many homes sinces it was founded. They are listed below in order:
The Roadhouse(1993)
Tower Inn(1994)
Pound Street(1995-1999)
Jimmy Mac's Bar(1999-2000)
The Ivy(2000-2001)
North Down Cricket Club(2001-Present)
We are happy to be in our current home, and are extremely grateful for all the kindness and support received from everyone at the North Down Cricket Club since our arrival. We are now entering our third season at the cricket club. Our members have swelled to around twenty this year. We are looking forward to the future with our partners.
